Pearl River Pastures is a regenerative farm founded in 2023 through the partnership of Robert and Jodie Harrison of Sunset Oaks Farm and Summers White of Juniper Creek Farm.
Robert’s journey into farming began after serving 22 years in the Marine Corps, with Jodie by his side as a military spouse. During their years of traveling the world and raising their two children, they struggled to find clean, nutrient-dense food. That experience ignited a deep curiosity about regenerative agriculture and a desire to create lasting change. Upon Robert’s retirement, they founded Sunset Oaks Farm, committed to producing high-quality, pasture-raised meats while restoring the land through regenerative farming practices.
For Summers, the connection to farming started long before she realized its full significance. Growing up in New Orleans, she spent weekends and holidays at her family’s farm in Mississippi—exploring the land, hunting with her family, and developing a deep appreciation for nature. In high school, health challenges led her to explore the link between food and well-being, and during her studies at the University of Alabama, she discovered regenerative agriculture. Determined to gain hands-on experience, she joined the WWOOF program, working on farms in Virginia before returning home to establish Juniper Creek Farm, dedicated to raising pastured poultry and livestock.
A farm tour and necessity sparked the opportunity for Sunset Oaks Farm and Juniper Creek Farm to build something greater together. Recognizing the need for local poultry processing and the shared commitment to land stewardship, ethical animal husbandry, and nutrient-dense food production, they formed a regenerative partnership—Pearl River Pastures.
Together, they built not only a farm but also a poultry processing facility to support local farmers and increase access to high-quality, pasture-raised meat. Now, as stewards of this land, they are dedicated to regenerating soil health, raising animals as nature intended, and making nutrient-dense food available to families across the Gulf South.
Pearl River Pastures is more than just a farm—it’s a mission, a legacy, and a commitment to better food, healthier land, and a thriving community. We invite you to follow along as we continue to grow, learn, and share this journey.
