Pearl River Pastures is a regenerative farm founded in 2023, born from the partnership of Robert Harrison of Sunset Oaks Farm and Summers White of Juniper Creek Farm.
Robert's path to farming began after 22 years in the Marine Corps, with his wife Jodie by his side. Years of traveling the world and raising two children left them struggling to find clean, nutrient-dense food. That struggle lit a curiosity about regenerative agriculture and a desire to create lasting change. When Robert retired, they founded Sunset Oaks Farm, committed to raising high-quality, pasture-raised meats while restoring the land through regenerative practices.
For Summers, the connection to farming ran deep long before she understood it. Growing up in New Orleans, she spent weekends and holidays on her family's farm in Mississippi, exploring the land, hunting with family, and building a love for nature. Health challenges in high school led her to the link between food and well-being, and at the University of Alabama she found regenerative agriculture. Determined to learn hands-on, she joined the WWOOF program on farms in Virginia before returning home to start Juniper Creek Farm, raising pastured poultry and livestock.
A farm tour and a shared need brought Sunset Oaks and Juniper Creek together. Recognizing the region's need for local poultry processing, and sharing a commitment to land stewardship, ethical animal husbandry, and nutrient-dense food, they formed one regenerative partnership: Pearl River Pastures.
Together they built more than a farm. They built a poultry processing facility to support local farmers and widen access to high-quality, pasture-raised meat. Today, as stewards of this land, they are dedicated to regenerating soil health, raising animals as nature intended, and putting nutrient-dense food on tables across the Gulf South.
Pearl River Pastures is more than a farm. It is a mission, a legacy, and a commitment to better food, healthier land, and a thriving community. Follow along as we grow, learn, and share this journey.
